Do you need an air traffic controller?
I can provide you with insight from an objective perspective. Just as pilots need navigational assistance, even well-written books need their own form of guidance through copy editing.
Who wants to publish their book with errors? It is easy for our brain to “auto correct” errors in our own writing and not spot them. An objective eye can catch errors you may have overlooked.
Make sure your book is a pleasure to read!
I want to help make certain readers love your book and get true joy out of its content. My substantive editing package includes evaluating clarity and logical flow, structure, organization, and redundancy.

You may be wondering how this process all works. I try to keep it easy for us as a team, as we work through the editing stage.
First, you will submit payment for the first half of the editing, which will be sent via an invoice to your email address.
Next, you will send me a digital copy of your book, this may be through email, etc.
I prefer the book file is shared in Google Docs, as the live editing feature is incredibly handy! This process is more collaborative, as you and I can both see the edits live. If you do not know how to share or upload your book to Google Docs, I can do it for you.
Once the book is uploaded, I will then look at any typos, spelling, and word choice issues. I will also look for any grammatical errors.
If you have chosen the substantive editing package, I will then pinpoint any structure issues, and assess the organization and content of your text. Lastly, I will ensure the content of your book is clear and provides a logical flow to the reader.
Once I have gone through two passes of editing, and you feel comfortable with the changes, I will send you an invoice for the last half of the editing. I will then send the completed file back to you.
If you need book cover design and layout, we will move on to the next step!
